Career

Accomplice works with you to hone your career skills from identifying what you want to maximising your performance in selection processes.   Our programmes are designed for those who want to steer their careers proactively, are thinking of changing career direction as well as those who want to prepare ahead for those enviable job opportunities that arise.

At Accomplice, we encourage individuals to

  • think ahead to the middle and longer-term and build a sound, sustainable ‘career plan’
  • pay heed to their home-life aspirations alongside their career ambitions
  • be explicit about their career goal and the life adjustments, capability and competency required
  • consider the impact of their personal values and the changing world upon their career choices (not just their potential contribution to the workplace)
  • improve their reputation and build effective networks to promote opportunities for their career over development
  • explore  their full potential contribution to the workplace – and confidently express and demonstrate this in word and deed

We believe that sound analysis fuels an individual’s career plan and, in turn, their applications and confidence in selection. We ‘release’ you ready, able and confident to progress your own career forward as you see fit.

Meeting your goals

Use any of our “career accomplice” programmes:

  • to accomplish your own career and personal development objectives – take control of your career, change direction or build your career skills
  • as part of your succession planning, reward and development and staff retention policies and practices – see your managers progress to more senior roles and executive posts.
  • ensure staff are placed in more fitting roles, supported through periods of restructuring – watch your staff adopt a proactive approach to their role, career and personal development.

Unsure of the programme or combination of units you should select?  Complete the online learning needs assessment and we will feedback your priorities.

Career Advancement Programme

Our most popular  course is the a  structured, comprehensive one-to-one programme that checks and establishes firm foundations for your career.  Each programme is shaped according to the individual’s needs (and, where relevant managerial and organisational objectives) with options to cover one or more of our  career units.  Enrolment includes access to our online career activities centre where reflective exercises, templates and tools are available to assist you – with support and feedback from your personal career consultant.  The ideal choice to accelerate your career progression and stimulate personal development.

Career Coaching Programme

For those wanting to address career and workplace issues informally within a one-to-one confidential setting, this is the most flexible programme focused directly on the issue you raise.  Some use this programme to address life-work issues, prepare for outplacement (redundancy) or plan for retirement.   Others use it as a ‘follow on’ from the more structured and comprehensive Career Advancement Programme. Sessions are commissioned in blocks of four or six with an over-arching goal.  The participant directs the topics of each hour-long session and the pace.  A good choice for those wishing to address the fullest range of life-work-career issues within just the session time.

Career Foundation Programme

Designed for organisations to commission for their staff during periods of reorganisation, our career training programme is short course accommodating 12-16 people.  Run as three interactive units and combining best practice with reflective exercises, participants achieve and sustain outstanding career skills in each of our career units:

Unit 1: Career Planning

Unit 2: Applications (including competence-based CVs)

Unit 3: Selection Processes (with an emphasis upon interviews)

Great choice for supportive organisations wanting to provide universal support for all staff on a limited budget.

Career surgeries

Book in to one or more of our scheduled career surgeries or host a day surgery or two on your own site. Participants bring any single career issue they need to crack in 50 minutes – it could even be a CV to a review, a career idea or plan they want support in working through or a selection process they have concerns with. Surgeries are also used to provide that little extra ‘exclusive and confidential external support’ to supplement in-house career programmes.

Speed coaching

Use our Speed Coaching (15 minutes) sessions lend a new dimension to your conferences and events, provide your staff with a little confidential and independent career support over, say, a lunch break or as a follow on from the Career Foundation Programme. Participants are always pleasantly surprised at the ground they can cover in just a few minutes.

Career seminars

Seminars from our Inspire Series are uniquely shaped to cover the ‘career’ subject of your choice for the event you have in mind, the time available and the people you are inviting. These information-packed 1.5 hour workshops provide an insight into a career development need of your choice. Each interactive event draws from career:accomplice philosophy and materials to inspire you (and others) to, for example, ‘Plan Ahead for Your Career’ or ‘Market Yourself: Develop Your CV’.
