Nicky Spencer, MBA BSc (Hons) MIHM is the first point of contact for all clients and responsible for developing Accomplice in line with clients’ expressed needs.
Bringing a wealth of experience from an already successful career within the public and voluntary sectors, Nicky Spencer entered the private sector arena in 1999, establishing her own independent consultancy.
Accomplished in the design and implementation of strategies, plans, and projects, Nicky’s independent perspective and pragmatic approach to any challenge has benefited a range of organisations. Familiar with all sectors and used to working with a range of professionals, she adapts her style to suit the situation – advisor, trainer, facilitator, coach or interim manager.
Nicky’s Continual Professional Development record includes: PRINCE Project Management I; CIPD Facilitation Skills; CMPS Organisation Development; IHM Six Sigma. Nicky writes a regular column in the Resource Centre of the Health Service Journal and is an active member of the Institute of Healthcare Management.
Accomplice now builds upon Nicky’s extensive expertise, style, reputation and reliable track record in management and consultancy.
Penny Prior, BA (Hons), DMS takes care of our business planning, information and financial matters. With an extensive career in social care, primarily focusing on performance and information management, her role extends to providing data analysis and research support on some assignments.
Penny’s past achievements include working as part of a team responsible for setting up community care, and designing and implementing a performance management framework for Community Services in Northamptonshire. She was an active member of the Social Services Research Group and chaired the Eastern Region Information Management Group, reporting to the Association of Directors of Social Services. Penny has also worked for a national charity, in higher education and within a Community Health Trust.

We are supported by supported by an expanding network of associates nationwide. These associates are drawn into assignments as and when their expertise or location is significant. They all ascribe to the Accomplice Code of Practice and Terms and Conditions.
Carole Appleby, Accredited Coach, Advanced Professional Dip. Public Relations
Carole offers more than 15 years experience in communications, coaching, change management and leadership development in both the public and private sectors. She is an accredited coach (European Coaching and Mentoring Council and Middlesex University) and an assessor for the UK ‘Excellence in Customer Experience’ accreditation programme. With a background as a head of communications and employee engagement within the NHS, Carole has particular expertise in creating strategic solutions that deliver high quality, effective communications to all audiences – resulting in enhanced reputation.
As such, Carole brings highly developed people skills and a passion for enabling and empowering individuals and teams to realise fully their potential and maximise their business and operational effectiveness. Her business background and extensive NHS experience also enable her to deliver innovative programmes, in which she actively encourages participants to take ownership of their learning and development.
Advisory Board
An informal Board advises on the development of the service and in monitoring the quality.
Working largely on a virtual basis, they mostly provide business, financial, educational and customer perspectives on our work.

Support Services
The website is managed by Christina Fowler and The Writing Desk lends copy, proof reading and research facilities.
All other activities, including administration, are outsourced as and when needed.
